Most of these databases are available from your home; you’ll just need a current library card and an internet connection.

  • Kids Search: Research tool for middle school and elementary age students. Search the encyclopedia. Look up words in the dictionary. Explore and search by topic. Databases included in Kids Search are Middle Search Plus, TOPICsearch, and Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia.
  • Learning Express Library: provides a completely interactive online learning platform of practice tests and tutorial course series designed to help patrons, students, and adult learners succeed on the academic or licensing tests they must pass. Y
  • Novelist K – 8: allows you to discover the fiction titles that are popular with young readers as well as titles to use in your classroom or with your children. The NoveList Learning Center provides a complete introduction to the product and shows you how to use NoveList to meet the reading needs of your students or children.
  • Searchasaurus: is a search tool designed for children, featuring the following areas: EBSCO’s Primary Search, Middle Search Plus, Encyclopedia of Animals, General Encyclopedia, Dictionary, and Pictures. Young researchers can find great information on topics like animals, history, health, science, and what’s in the news.
  • World Book Kids: Contains shorter versions of the articles in World Book. Includes pictures and an activity site with quizzes and crafts.
  • Student Research Center: A fully integrated database containing thousands of curriculum-targested primary documents, biographies, topical essays, background information, critical analyses, full-text coverage of over 300 magazines, newspapers, over 20,000 photographs and illustrations, and more than 8 hours of audio and video clips.
  • Biography Reference Bank: This database is a collection of biographical material from a variety of sources including, biographical profiles, feature articles, interviews, essays, book reviews, performance reviews, speeches, and obituaries.
  • Global Issues in Context: offers current, international news and perspectives on the most talked about, debated and studied issues and events in world hot spots. It also includes detailed information on nations to provide a foundation for cross-cultural studies, and international periodicals and news sources that bring additional insight and currency.
